In the autumn, Huashan Lake sparkled with a blue sky and clear waters, creating a breathtaking landscape where the water and sky merged into one. Recently, foreign friends participated in the Licheng Cultural Experience Walking Tour and visited Huashan Historical and Cultural Wetland Park in Licheng District, Jinan. Ten foreign friends from countries such as South Korea, Pakistan, and Malaysia had a close encounter with Jinan's unique natural scenery and felt the profound cultural heritage of this city.

IMG_256Huashan Historical and Cultural Wetland Park, located in the northeast corner of Jinan, is a comprehensive park that integrates natural beauty, historical culture, and ecological conservation. Its core area revolves around the famous Huashan Mountain and its surrounding wetland ecosystem. The park has multiple functional areas, including a historical and cultural exhibition area, a wetland ecological conservation area, and a leisure and sightseeing area, which not only meet the cultural experience needs of citizens but also provide high-quality ecological services.

IMG_257IMG_258Huashan Mountain, with an altitude of 197 meters, rises like a budding lotus flower from the ground and has been known since ancient times as "Hua Bu Zhu," which means "flower bud" in a phonetic transcription, vividly depicting the stunning scenery of Huashan Mountain and its surrounding waters. The foreign friends not only enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Huashan Mountain and Huashan Lake but also admired the largest existing ancient building complex in Jinan - the Huayang Palace Ancient Building Complex. The Huayang Palace Ancient Building Complex was first built during the Jin Dynasty and expanded by Chen Zhiyuan, a disciple of Qiu Chuji. It underwent name changes during the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing and Wanli reigns and was finally named Huayang Palace. It integrates Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian cultures and is known as the "Grand Sight of Jinan" and the "First Grand Sight North of the Yangtze River." The foreign friends visited the Second Palace Gate, Loyalty Shrine, Filial Piety Shrine, Four Seasons Hall, East and West Side Rooms, East and West Wings, and Opposite Rooms of Huayang Palace, listening to staff explain the construction features, historical stories, and heritage development of the ancient building complex. The long history, exquisite murals, and grand scale amazed the foreign friends.

Zheng Zhiqing from Malaysia said, "There are fewer such ancient buildings in my country, so Huayang Palace is quite novel to me. I also like the artistic style of these ancient buildings. Today's visit has given me a deeper understanding of Jinan's ancient architectural art and cultural heritage. In the future, I will visit more scenic spots in China."
